It is sad how modern writing demands brevity, conciseness, and precision to keep up with our fast-paced lives.

A desperate attempt to make room for all that we're being bombarded with every day that boils down to today's fierce and extremely hard life.

Being from the old school, I can see how all we do is becoming more mechanical every day. Today's world is dominated by everything being instantaneous. Today's mentality hinges on "there is no time to waste!" it's now or never! May God help us?

Otherwise, where are the romantic and flowery languages of the past in Emily Brontë's "Wuthering Heights." Or in Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice" a romantic and expressive quality writing style as opposed to "The Old Man and the Sea" by Ernest Hemingway or "Interpreter of Maladies" by Jhumpa Lahiri are notable examples.
