Oh, Elizabeth, my heart bleeds for you. How can I be so cruel to judge you whereas up till now I'm still bearing the scars of a divorce myself caught with the children (now grown-up men a woman) in between. But that cordial---- father and children relationship--- never existed again. This shows how some mothers can make men lives miserable. I hope that wasn't your case. But for me, I believe if God does not help me to fix things, I will be carrying this cross with me to my grave.
